Program Description
Imagine Language & Literacy is an adaptive supplemental program designed to build core reading and academic language skills among students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The program provides individualized instruction with exercises tailored to each user’s needs, accelerating instruction levels based on the user’s rate of progress: vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, phonics and phonemic awareness. The program incorporates art, music, sports and multi-disciplinary subject matter while focused on literacy skills.
Program Outcomes
One study that took place in seventeen schools across three districts in Texas found that students using Imagine Language & Literacy showed significantly greater improvement in reading skills than students who did not use the program. Fourth and fifth grade students were compared on Texas state tests, with Imagine Language & Literacy students gaining more than control students (effect size = +0.18). Results were not significant at the level of assignment (schools) but were at the student level, qualifying Imagine Language & Literacy for the ESSA “Promising” category.
